About PDF Protect

Our PDF Protect tool allows you to add password protection to your PDF documents. You can set a user password that's required to open the document, an owner password that restricts permissions, or both. This is useful for securing sensitive documents, protecting intellectual property, or controlling who can edit or print your PDFs. All processing happens directly in your browser - your files never leave your computer, ensuring maximum privacy and security.

How to Protect PDF Files

  1. Upload your PDF files by dragging and dropping them or clicking the "Choose Files" button.
  2. Select the protection type (user password, owner password, or both).
  3. Enter the password(s) you want to use.
  4. For owner password protection, select which permissions to allow.
  5. Customize the output filename if needed.
  6. Click the "Protect PDF" button to process your files.
  7. Download your password-protected PDF documents.

Security Note
